Guide

Keeping up with family on WhatsApp when life is full.

"Have you eaten?" "Did you get home?" "Call me when you're free." Small messages, big feelings. Here's how to keep answering them, even on your busiest days.

The short answer

Reply quickly and briefly rather than perfectly and late, set a daily moment for family chats, keep a few warm replies ready, and put birthdays and promises into reminders. An assistant like Cyrano can answer everyday family messages the gentle way you do, and asks you first about anything that matters.

Why family messages are different

A colleague wants information. Your mum wants to know you're okay. A one-line reply in your usual tone ("yes ma, i just finished eating") means far more than a long message three days later.

Small habits that help

  • A daily family moment. Five minutes at lunch or on the way home to answer every family chat.
  • Reply short, then follow up. "In a meeting, will call tonight" is a full answer.
  • Pin parents and partners so they're always at the top.
  • Put dates in reminders. Birthdays and anniversaries mentioned in chats are easy to lose.

Let Cyrano answer the everyday ones, gently

Cyrano, the WhatsApp assistant, learns how you write to each person, so the reply to your mum sounds like you talking to your mum, not like a bot. For anything that really matters, it holds the reply and asks you. You can set family chats to Ask me first so you see every reply before it goes. It can also look through your chats for birthdays and anniversaries and offer to remind you (you confirm each one).

Mum

Have you eaten today?

yes ma, i just finished eating

Big moments (declaring feelings, a real apology, difficult news) are always left to you.

Questions people ask

What's the difference between Live and Ask me first?

Live: Cyrano replies on its own, in your voice, after a natural pause. Ask me first: it writes each reply and shows it to you before anything is sent, so you can send it, change it or drop it. You choose per chat. Cyrano only allows Live once it sounds enough like you with that person; until then it suggests Ask me first.

Will the people I chat with know it's Cyrano?

Replies go out from your own WhatsApp, under your name, written the way you write, so they read like you. Cyrano doesn't announce itself. Whether to tell someone is your decision, and our terms ask you to tell people where that's appropriate or required. Big moments, like declaring feelings or a real apology, are left to you.

Can I stop it at any time?

Yes. One tap pauses everything, and every chat goes quiet. You can also take over a single chat, hand it back later, or set quiet hours when nothing is sent. If you type in a chat yourself, Cyrano steps back from that chat for a while.
