Guide
Remember what you said you'd do on WhatsApp.
"See you Thursday at 1." "I'll send it tomorrow." "It's my birthday on the 12th!" Plans made in chats are easy to make and easy to forget.
The short answer
Star important messages, copy dates straight into your calendar or a reminder the moment you read them, and keep one list of promises. Cyrano, the WhatsApp assistant, can notice meetings, bills and promises in chats it covers and offer a reminder, and can find birthdays and anniversaries in your past chats. It always asks before setting anything.
Do it yourself in WhatsApp
- Star the message: press and hold it, tap the star. Find it later under Starred messages.
- Add it to your calendar: on many phones, tapping a date or time in a message offers to create an event.
- Message yourself: WhatsApp lets you chat with your own number. Use it as a to-do list.
Let Cyrano notice it for you
In the chats it covers, Cyrano spots messages that mention a day, a time, a meeting, a bill or a promise, and offers you a reminder. Nothing is set until you say yes, and it never messages the other person about it.

Lunch Thursday at 1, same place?
Noticed in your chat with Tolu: lunch on Thursday at 1pm. Want a reminder?
- Reminders your way: phone notifications, an email with a calendar file, or an alarm on your phone's clock.
- Birthdays and anniversaries: tap Find birthdays and anniversaries and Cyrano looks through the chats it covers for yearly dates. You confirm each one.
- Private: reminder notifications never quote the chat, and you can switch noticing off in Settings.
Questions people ask
Can WhatsApp set reminders?
WhatsApp itself has no reminders for personal chats. You can star messages, add dates to your phone's calendar, or use an assistant like Cyrano that notices plans in chats and offers to remind you.
Does Cyrano set reminders without asking?
No. It suggests a reminder and waits for your yes. It never sends anything to the other person, and you can turn noticing off in Settings.
