Draft. Not yet in force.
No person at Cyrano reads your chats. They are used for one thing: writing replies for you, in your voice. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your chats to train AI models, and you can delete everything at any time.
Cyrano only replies in chats you switch on. It never covers groups, statuses or channels.
So that it knows what is going on in your day, it also reads your own messages (never the other person's) in your other recent one-to-one chats.
Replies are written by software. When one is needed, the chat and what Cyrano has learned about how you write are processed automatically by an AI model provider (Anthropic's Claude, reached through OpenRouter).
If you talk to Cyrano by voice, the audio is sent to Deepgram to be turned into text, and Cyrano's spoken replies are made there too. These are the only places your messages go outside Cyrano.
If you take a call with Cyrano, Deepgram turns what you say into text and passes that text to our own server, which sends it to the same AI model (Claude, through OpenRouter) to decide what to say next, under the same no-training rule as every other request. The call's audio is never stored. What was said is kept as text, encrypted, until you confirm the notes or for 24 hours, whichever comes first, and is then deleted. Only the notes you confirm are kept, and you can change or remove them at any time.
When a new message in a chat you cover mentions a day, a time or something like a meeting, a bill or a promise, that chat's recent messages also go to the same AI model to see whether you may want a reminder. A simple check on our own server decides first, so most messages are never sent for this. Cyrano asks you before setting anything, never sends anything to the other person, and its notification never quotes the chat. You can turn this off in Settings.
If you press Find birthdays and anniversaries, Cyrano reads the messages already stored from the chats you cover. A simple check on our own server picks out messages that mention a birthday, an anniversary or a yearly date, and only those (with the message just before each) go to the same AI model, looking for dates that come back every year. It never turns old plans into one-off reminders, each chat is looked at at most once a month, and you confirm each date before it becomes a reminder. What it finds is kept as who, what and the day, never the words of the chat.
We use provider settings that do not allow training on your content, and we never use reduced-price tiers that trade your data for training.
Nobody on our team opens or reads your conversations.
Your chats contain other people's messages. You decide which chats Cyrano covers, and you are responsible for telling people where that is appropriate or required.
Cyrano learns how you write from your own messages across your chats. What another person wrote to you is never used outside the chat it came from.
Chat content, your WhatsApp link, your sign-in secret and your email address are encrypted where they are stored. Opening the app requires your password and the code from your authenticator.
Email is sent through Microsoft 365, so Microsoft handles your email address and the text of the notices we send you. Those notices never contain anything from your chats.
A reminder alert says only what you confirmed the reminder is for and when, because it can show on a locked phone. It goes to your devices through their own push services (Apple, Google or your browser's maker), encrypted so only your device can read it, and, if reminder emails are on, to your own email address through Microsoft 365. An email stays in your inbox until you delete it; you can turn reminder emails off in Settings.
The first reminder email for each reminder carries a calendar file, and so does Add to calendar in the app. It holds only the reminder's title, its day and time, and its alert times, nothing from your chats. Once you add it to a calendar, that calendar's provider (for example Apple, Google or Microsoft) keeps it under its own terms; deleting the reminder in Cyrano does not remove it from your calendar. You can turn the file off in Settings.
Add alarm hands the reminder's time and title to your phone's own Clock app (on an iPhone through a shortcut you add once). The alarm then lives on your phone, outside Cyrano.
We keep your data until you delete it. Delete everything in Settings removes your chats, voice profiles, lessons, agent conversation, reminders, WhatsApp link and email address from our systems.
If you joined the waitlist, your name and email address are kept until you create your account or ask us to take you off the list.
Removing Cyrano from Linked devices in WhatsApp stops all access immediately.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights to access, correct or object to how your data is used, and to complain to your regulator.
